Readers of the overshare feel needed, even though we are mostly silent and often unsympathetic because we’ve been on the other side of the conflict, or we just don’t think the subject is being handled with sensitivity, or whatever; if not for our eyes reading these posts, they would be stuffed in a journal. Does it matter that we’re reading them? I think it does. When you yell down a well, does what you say change if you think that maybe, just maybe, there’s a person down there to hear you?
